ScanMan Barcode and RFID Scanners, software and services

ScanMan Software is a suite of software designed around warehouses in a manufacturing environment.
Scanman software is designed to work alongside an existing ERP system, or stand-alone in your warehouse and on your production line with scanners or PC's.

ScanMan has been continuously developed, refined, used, and tested since 2002. From our enterprise-ready production-to-warehouse integration suit, to our stand-alone batch software to run on your Datalogic, Intermec or ATID scanner, now is the time to take advantage of the dropping prices in Windows mobile devices so buy your barcode scanners now!
Ready-to-download batch scanners

We supply a range of affordable scanners in our online shop, and can deliver them ready to use with our batch software so that you can be scanning and downloading into any file format you need right out the box. When you place your hardware order for scanners, tell use how many data fields you want to be scanned in your warehouse , and the columns you want downloaded in your text file  as well as the field delimiters. We will install and configure ScanMan W onto your hardware before delivering it.
You can buy RFID readers from our online store. The Intermec range of readers that we supply are robust, high powered and well respected in the industry. They are fully guaranteed by the manufacturers and fully supported and serviced by the local agents. Buy RFID readers, antennas, and other barcode scanners from our  online shop

Warehouse-to-Production ERP integration

Historically, ERP systems have done a mediocre job in warehouse management, labelling and pick lists, being either too rigid or too simplistic in their inventory control, scanner integration and sales/planning office to warehouse integration. Their user interfaces are often clumsy and frustrating to the users.

The ScanMan suite addresses these shortfalls and provides a best-of-breed solution, and offers some of the latest technology and manufacturing concepts like RFID and KanBan. The software suite is made up of the following components, all working closely with barcode scanners:

ScanMan-P

  • Production Line software,
  • label printing,
  • barcode and RFID scanning
  • KanBan software

ScanMan-O

  • Outbound Logistic Control
ScanMan-C
  • Core Warehouse Management

ScanMan-R

  • RFID Software and Middleware

ScanMan-W

  • Wireless Scanner Software

ScanMan-A

Scanman is designed to fill the gap and work alongside your ERP system, receiving and providing information to your ERP system only when needed, but working autonomously. Being South African designed, we can customize our software to suit your needs.

The software is ideally suited to situations where FIFO (first in first out) principles would like to be followed, but not rigidly enforced. By changing a software setting FIFO can be compulsory.

Scanman has 2 components: a desktop system and a wireless scanner option.

If you are managing your warehouse using paper based "cardex" systems or data capture into a clumsy ERP system, or battling with a warehouse management system that doesn't quite do what you want it to, then consider this affordable software.

Scanman is dependant on no other ERP system, but can optionally integrate to your ERP system if required.

ScanMan uses wireless pocket pc type barcode scanners, key board wedge type scanners, as well as data storage scanners. However, barcode scanners are optional and you can simply use a normal PC and  keyboard if you want.

The strong points of scanman are:

  • Simplicity - on the surface scanman looks like a simple program to operate - and it is! But a lot of the work is done behind the scenes using powerful software algorithms. We like to call the user-interface "intuitive" rather than simple.
  • Price - scanman is affordable, while some WM software costs over R1 000 000, scanman costs only R50 000 and you can self-install it meaning no expensive consultant costs.
  • Stock take (Physical Inventory) - the stock take feature of scanman is its big selling point. Our stock take software is guaranteed to reduce your stock take time down from a few days to a few hours.

Scanman is simple: capture your goods after receiving them into your ERP system (we can extract the data automatically from your SQL database), scanman automatically prints a label with a barcode. You scan the barcode and bin location when you put it away.

Put Away

If you move the box or pick from it, scan it and tell scanman about your adjustments.

If you issue the box out of the warehouse, tell scanman and the box is archived.

Its that simple! Scanman operates quickly, so with these operations you are saving many man-hours.

Stock Take Process

Stock Take/Physical Inventory: Developed over 7 years in the motor industry, our stock take system has been refined over time with many features and developments added by the software developers actually being involved in the stock take process. It offers double count with comparison, wireless scanner, PC data capture, file upload as well as memory scanner integration so you can have multiple teams working on your various warehouse's stock take even if they dont have wireless coverage.

Stock Take Financial Report

ScanMan offers powerful reports for analysing the progress and accuracy of your stock-take like: "Bins not touched" report, "Warehouse Value" report, "Warehouse Value Exception Report" and  "Still to scan report".

Audit Log: Scanman also provides tracebility, so everybody needs to log in the system (automatic logon for domain users, user name/password loging for scanner users). If somebody changes something , scanman records the history of every box.

Security: ScanMan provides authorisations: every user can be assigned permissions to perform certain operations which means your data is more secure.

Rebate Register

We also have a powerful file import and excel export database system for creating your customs and excise Rebate Register compliance reports.
